Editors may consult with other editors or peer reviewers in making this decision.
Fairness Aspect
Editors continually evaluate manuscripts for the intellectual content of the authors without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political views of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and every editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other relevant editorial board members, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's research without the written consent of the author.
Reviewer's Duties
Contribution to Editorial Decision
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and may help authors improve the quality of the manuscript through editorial suggestions.
Promptness
Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified/uninterested to review the manuscript or does not have enough time for the review should promptly notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
Confidentiality
Every manuscript accepted for review must be treated as confidential. Manuscripts should not be disseminated or discussed with others unless allowed by the editor.
Objective Standards
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Recognition of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the author. Statements that observations, derivations, or arguments have been previously reported should be accompanied by relevant citations. Reviewers should also inform the editor if there is substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published article.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Information or ideas obtained during the review process must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Author's Responsibilities
Reporting Standards
Authors of manuscripts must present accurate research reports along with the objectives and benefits of the research. The data used should be accurately presented in the submitted article. The manuscript should contain sufficient details and references to enable others to replicate the work. Dishonest or deliberately inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.
Access and Data Storage
Authors are required to provide raw data related to the article for editorial review and should be ready to provide public access to that data (in accordance with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Database), if possible. Authors must store this data for a reasonable period after publication in any condition.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written a fully original or self-written work, and if authors have used the work and/or words of others, they must ensure that it is appropriately cited.
Multiple Publications, More Than One Journal
An author is not allowed to publish the same research manuscript in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical publishing behavior and unacceptable.
Source Acknowledgment
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite influential publications in their scholarly writing.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported research. All individuals who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. Appropriate authors should ensure that all co-authors are included on the paper, and no inappropriate co-authors are included, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Financial Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose in their manuscripts any conflicts related to financial sources or third-party interests that may affect the objectivity of the submitted manuscript. All financial support sources for the project/research in the submitted article must be disclosed.
